A LIFE ON EARTH
My name is aVIE and I’m a musician based out of Houston, TX. My father is a project engineer and my mother is a classical Indian musician/poet. When you combine these two influences (along with a hard rock childhood) you get me: a singer with a keen interest in audio engineering. Growing up, my father had a nomadic job that transplanted us from one country to the next every 5 years. So naturally, my music is influenced by a wide range of sounds, scales, and experiences.
Whether it’s rooted in sadness or contentment, anger or misery, anxiety or inspiration... aVIEonearth is a project documenting a common man’s life on Earth with each project exploring its own world of emotions.
CHUTNEY CHASERS EP (2018)
In the same way that a baby cries for its first breath, the “Chutney Chasers” EP is my creation come to life. All of my lessons were learned here. All of my growing pains were felt here. All of my potential was realized here.
The 6 song movement schizophrenically shuffles through my encounters with love, exotification, identity, addiction, and anxiety. Often times all at once in an overwhelming fashion.
Colorization of the EP is imagined in gray/black, deep red, and rainy blue.

'Love is just a pass time to keep the mind away from the hard times'
This is the last song on the Chutney Chasers EP. An acoustic resolution to the turmoil within the album. This video finds itself reminiscing in love's moments of passion as well as isolation.

This shit has been through a college computer crash/revival, a big ass/flood ass hurricane, and a BMV break into my car/theft of my hard drive.

'Experience is a hard teacher because she gives the test first, the lesson afterward.'
In the middle of recording the Chutney Chasers EP, Harvey hit Houston and completely flooded the city and particularly the studio that I was working in.
A significant amount of work was lost. :(
It took the studio a few months to rebuild in which I saw a grey period with music. Houston was rebuilding and I was too. But we worked through the lost time.
